Kyriakos Costas was born in Larnaca, in 1998. He is a graduate of Royal Holloway University of London, specializing in composition. In recent years he has been professionally engaged in orchestral music and theater music. At the same time, he is also active as a session pianist, but also as a songwriter.
In 2020, he was one of the Young Generation Composers of CoMA Festival in London, participating with his orchestral piece: ‘clockwise’. In 2021 he participated as a composer in Royal Holloway’s 5th Picture Gallery Composer-in-Residence Scheme, where he composed music for the gallery’s online presentation and tour. In 2021, his piece for solo flute ‘mute’ won first prize in the London Ensemble Matters competition.
In the autumn of 2021, he is signing the music together with the composer Konstantinos Lemesios in the comic-tragic musical of Kostas Mannouris: ‘The hour of Gedeon Doukas’, directed/performed by Marios Mettis (produced by Hamm Broductions), in the framework of the Larnaca Biennale Festival 2021. At the same time , releases his orchestral EP, entitled ‘Sundial’, which he recorded with London’s CHROMA Ensemble. Subsequently, from 2021 until today, he undertakes the artistic supervision of concerts, such as: ‘The classic Mikis Theodorakis’ and Nocturna, which tour the rest of the cities of Cyprus. In September 2023, he founded the Children’s Theater: “AEROSTATO”, which premiered its first play: “The Shoes That Tell Fairy Tales”, in the context of the 1st CARE Festival, organized by LARNAKA 2030 European Candidate City. For the past three years, he has been releasing his own songs through his personal YouTube channel, under the production of fellow songwriter and producer Constantinos Lemesios.
