I am a visual artist and community development practitioner deeply committed to the role of arts as a tool for social change.
In 2016, I founded ‘Allospos’ NGO—a dynamic community of artists dedicated to developing and implementing socially engaged projects using art for empowerment and community development. Over the course of 5 years, I assumed multifaceted responsibilities encompassing communication and project management. One of my primary tasks was to orchestrate, execute, and supervise diverse art projects across schools, youth organizations, and refugee camps.
Over the past five years, I’ve co-founded and been an integral part of the artistic collective, amaya_3400. Our focus has been on designing and executing large-scale street art projects aimed at raising awareness of social and environmental issues. Notably, we won first place in five competitions, which included executing murals at both International Airports of Cyprus.
In tandem with coordinating projects, I have been delivering street art workshops globally for the past ten years. During this time, I’ve fostered safe and inclusive spaces to engage and empower diverse communities, including young refugees, children from high-risk environments, youth facing mental health challenges, and rural youth. Specifically, I have focused on methods such as using participatory and Positive Youth Development (PYD) approaches, providing young people with platforms to creatively express themselves and make positive contributions to their communities.
